I have decided to sell the Inspira quilting frame. It is really more suited to doing the type of quilting that you can do with pantographs, i.e. a repeating pattern. That really isn’t what I am doing. So I am making space and selling it. As it is only of use with the right [...] Yesterday we made a lot of progress in setting me up with a more ergonomic sewing table for quilting on. After consulting various books and people we decided on the following solution. It consists of two tables, both from IKEA. The smaller white one has adjustable height legs, which can be adjusted to [...] Over the weekend we have been working on a new release of my gallery. It is now up and running. Lots of the old albums are still there but a little reorganised and there are some new photos and albums too. The other thing we did was to hang Black and white and red [...] That’s the name of my latest quilt. I first heard this as a conundrum from my Granny when I was a little girl. It was: What’s black and white and read all over? It’s one of those phrases which pop into your head and wants to be made into a quilt. It’s been lurking [...] At the weekend I spent some time browsing through back copies of Quilting Arts magazine and various other quilting books for inspiration as to how to quilt my latest WIP. In the end the real inspiration for the design came from this book: I first learnt about this book in a QU class [...] I wasn’t working 2 days last week so I made lots of progress on my black and white quilt top. It is finished in the sense that it’s not going to grow any more in size, but I am still thinking about doing some extra embellishment. It has been a lovely weekend here, so we spent most of yesterday in the garden cutting back the abundant growth that rain combined with warmth has brought forth.
