Today I made a couple of small samples showing two different decorative edge treatments. I used 2 4 inch blocks that I had left over from another project. The beaded edge is made by attaching the binding to the back of the quilt and then hand sewing down onto the front. A seed bead is added to each stitch. The second is a couched edge made by plaiting 2 strands of wool and one decorative yarn together and then sewing it to the edge of the quilt using a triple zig-zag stitch.
