I made a quick proof of concept for my folding purse in fabric. It was worth doing because I now know where the dangers lie and where I need to be most accurate with my cutting and sewing. I just did some quick machine stitching where the hand stitching will go. I am now confident that the method I had in mind for the construction will work. I just need to do a last sample of hand stitching through the three layers of the base, which will also have a batting layer, and then I’m ready for the real thing.
